SELİM KOÇBAY, APPOINTED AS GENERAL MANAGER OF TÜRASAŞ, STARTED HIS DUTY
Selim Koçbay, who was appointed with the Presidential Decree No. 2024/319 published in the Official Gazette dated September 13, 2024, took over the position from former General Manager Mustafa Metin Yazar with a program attended by Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Osman Boyraz.

RAIL SYSTEMS LEADER TÜRASAŞ AMONG THE INDUSTRIAL GIANTS

27 FREIGHT WAGONS FROM TÜRASAŞ TO TCDD TAŞIMACILIK A.Ş.
27 Container Wagons produced by TÜRASAŞ were delivered to TCDD General Directorate of Transportation. In the statement made by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, it was stated that the wagons produced with local and national resources in Eskişehir will be used mainly in freight transportation within TCDD Transportation, and it was stated that 1 wagon is produced with the capacity to load 2 40-foot containers and carry a total load of up to 108 tons. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu emphasized that Turkey's domestic and national wagon production is an important breakthrough in terms of logistics.
THE 3RD SET OF THE NATIONAL ELECTRIC TRAIN IS ON THE RAILS
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that 2 sets of the National Electric train successfully carried passengers between Adapazarı and Gebze and said, “Our 3rd set, whose manufacturing and testing was completed by TÜRASAŞ, was delivered to the TCDD General Directorate of Transportation, went down to the rails and started to serve our citizens. By the end of 2025, 22 more sets will be on the roads and the number of local and national train sets will reach 25 within 2 years. "By 2030, a total of 56 sets will be on the road to serve our citizens," he said.

FREIGHT TRANSPORTATION IS ACCELERATING WITH NEW GENERATION BOGIES
Turkish Rail System Vehicles Industry Inc. (TÜRASAŞ) increases the speed in railway freight transportation. Another innovation is coming for the new generation freight wagons that can operate at 120 km/h on railways, thanks to the Y25Ls(s)d-KP1 type bogie with KP and Compact brake systems developed by TÜRASAŞ R&D Center.
First Shipment of Domestic and National Railway Wheel Set Has Been Made
Karabuk Iron and Steel Industry and Trade Inc. (KARDEMİR) Turkey's first domestic and national railway wheelset was shipped to Sivas to be used in domestic and national freight wagons produced by TÜRASAŞ.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu visited TÜRASAŞ, made inspections and received information about the works carried out. Sharing the latest developments about the National High Speed Train, Uraloğlu said, “After our National Electric Train, we are also making our National High Speed Train. We have completed 90 percent of our design work in our National High Speed Train, which has an operating speed of 225 km. We plan to start assembly of the first prototype in early 2024. We aim to bring this national high-speed train, which will have a train set with 8 vehicles, to passenger transportation in 2025.”
ROAD-FRIENDLY BOGIE-Y25 Ls(s)od
As a result of the studies initiated by our Company in 2017 in order to reduce wheel and rail wear, a bogie study was initiated in line with narrow curve (small radius bend) railways. In this context, the prototype Y25 Ls(s)od bogie produced very positive results in terms of reducing wheel wear in the tests. Thereupon, the certification process of the road-friendly bogie was completed in 2022 with TSI certification.
