Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir URALOĞLU Visited Türasaş

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu visited Turkey Rail System Vehicles Industry Inc. (TÜRASAŞ). Minister Uraloğlu, who first received information about the works carried out during the visit, then made examinations at the Aluminum Body Manufacturing Factory, Final Assembly Workshop, Sandblasting Workshop and Electrical Test Workshop. Afterwards, Uraloğlu started the passenger transportation between Adapazarı and Gebze on May 27, and went to the cockpit of the National Electric Train, which served the citizens on the rails, and drove.

Minister Uraloğlu stated that in 21 years, Turkey has become a global producer and export country in the field of domestic industry and underlined that national electric trains are successfully used in passenger transportation. Providing important information about the National High Speed ​​​​Train works, Uraloğlu said, “After our National Electric Train, we are also making our National High Speed ​​​​Train. Our National High Speed ​​​​Train design works with an operating speed of 225 kilometers continue. We have completed 90% of this process by bringing the works to the final design stage. In this context, we continue the supply processes together with the technical drawing and technical documentation process. We plan to start assembly of the first prototype in early 2024. We aim to make our National High Speed ​​​​Train, which will have a train set with 8 vehicles, ready for passenger transportation in 2025, after our National Electric Train. Our country is now in a position to produce High Speed ​​​​Trains and High Speed ​​​​Trains itself. In the very near future, there will be no need to procure vehicles from abroad.” said.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu reminded that the National Electric Trains successfully continued the passenger transportation that started between Adapazarı and Gebze on May 27, 2023, and said, “Our National Electric Trains travel 97 kilometers by stopping at 11 stations. Since its inception, it has made 281 trips in 56 days and covered 27,400 kilometers. It served over 70,000 passengers with a 77% occupancy rate. Factory tests of our third train set, which will join our first two trains, are continuing successfully. The assembly process of the other sets is in progress. We plan to make our 3rd set, whose factory tests continue, ready for passenger transportation in the 3rd quarter of 2023.”

Emphasizing that TÜRASAŞ is a world brand in the field of railway industry, Minister Uraloğlu said, "It is a well-known fact that we are a global producer and export country worldwide with the national technology products we have produced by developing our domestic industry in the last 21 years under the leadership of our President. Today, Türkiye produces its own domestic observation and communication satellites. He builds warships in his shipyards. We dominate the skies with ATAK Helicopters, Armed-Unarmed Aerial Vehicles, and develop technologies that change the balance of power in the world in the air defense industry and break new ground in the field of combat. Our adventure, which started with Bayraktar Mini UAV in 2007, continued with Bayraktar TB2 in 2014 and Akıncı in 2019. Bayraktar Kızılelma, the first unmanned warplane, showed up in the sky.

Here, we manufacture our National Electric Train Sets at our TÜRASAŞ facilities in Sakarya. We are now in the Turkish Century. We will accelerate the projects that we have dreamed of for the new century of our Republic and that we have been preparing for years. This century will be a period in which our country will leave its mark on world history," he said.

Minister Uraloğlu also said that they started the new period with the vision of a Turkey with a strong industry, a national technology, and a mission to create a competitive, sustainable, domestic and national industrial structure based on high technology, and said, "We will work according to the needs of the sector with our projects that bring together all relevant stakeholders in terms of domestic and national product supply."

“WE BECOME THE LARGEST RAIL SYSTEM VEHICLE MANUFACTURER IN THE MIDDLE EAST”

Minister Uraloğlu continued his words as follows: "The intensive effort that has been spent since 2003 under the leadership of our Honorable President has come into being with new products, new markets, record sales and profitability." “We made TÜRASAŞ the largest rail system vehicle manufacturer in the Middle East. In the process we have come to, we have been producing the main and critical products ourselves, such as new generation locomotives, diesel and electric train sets and engines, passenger and freight wagons, train control management system at international standards. Our National Electric Train Sets, which can also operate in European Union countries, have also proved the level of development of our railway industry. As you know, we transferred our first National Electric Train Sets to TCDD Transportation in April and put them at the service of our nation. The operating speed of these train sets is 160 kilometers and the design speed is 176 kilometers. It has 3, 4, 5 and 6 vehicle configurations according to business needs. In the 5-vehicle configuration, the passenger capacity is 324. It also has the TSI Certificate required by the European Union, that is, all the necessary conditions for interoperability. We will meet an important need of passenger transportation by producing a total of 22 sets, 4 sets until 2024 and 15 sets until the end of 2025, from our National Electric Train sets, of which a total of 3 sets have been produced so far, 2 first examples and 1 serial set. By 2030, we will complete the number of train sets to 56.”

Minister Uraloğlu concluded his statement with the following words; “There is no limit that countries that adopt innovation as their motto and that are open to development and catch the difference, cannot cross, and there is no door that they cannot open. As our President has often emphasized; dreaming, thinking big and taking a step. We have become one of the fastest developing countries in the world with policies and activities that have increased all transportation services many times over. We also planned the investments for the next 30 years, one by one. We are working to realize the vision of the 'Century of Turkey' announced by our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, with our investments. We will continue to increase the steps we have taken to pave the way for the sector. Hopefully, under the leadership of our President, we will perform much better services together.”
