3 New Factories for Local and National Locomotives

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that they will establish 3 new factories within the Turkish Rail System Vehicles Inc. (TÜRASAŞ) in order to develop rail system vehicles and increase their current production capacity, and said, “We will lay the foundations of the National Electric Locomotive Manufacturing and Electrical Systems Factory in Eskişehir, the National Electric Train Set Manufacturing and Testing Factory in Sakarya, and the National Rail System Vehicles Parts Manufacturing Factory in Sivas in 2025.”

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that they will focus on the development of domestic and national locomotive and train set production projects within the Turkish Rail System Vehicles Inc. (TÜRASAŞ) within the scope of the 2025-2027 investment program. Minister Uraloğlu said, “While preparing our plans regarding our rail system vehicles, we prioritize locality and nationality by developing technical knowledge and infrastructure in design, project and production activities. In this way, we aim to reduce external dependency in railways.”

3 New Factories to be Established in Eskişehir, Sakarya and Sivas

Emphasizing that TÜRASAŞ is the largest representative of Turkey in the rail systems manufacturing sector with over 100 years of experience and knowledge, Minister Uraloğlu said, “We continue our efforts with determination to be the producing power of Turkey. We are increasing our modern and domestic vehicles on the railways with our projects such as the National Freight Wagon, National Electric Train set, which we developed with domestic and national resources, and the Eskişehir-5000 Electric Mainline Locomotive and National Electric High-Speed ​​Train, which are currently under construction. Our biggest goal is for these breakthroughs to be permanent. Within the scope of the 2025-2027 investment program, we will establish 3 new factories within TÜRASAŞ to develop rail system vehicles and increase the current production capacity. We will lay the foundations of the National Electric Locomotive Manufacturing and Electrical Systems Factory in Eskişehir, the National Electric Train Set Manufacturing and Testing Factory in Sakarya, and the National Rail System Vehicles Parts Manufacturing Factory in Sivas in 2025.” He used the expressions.

TÜRASAŞ Solar Power Plant to be Established

Minister Uraloğlu, who noted that domestic and national rail system vehicle production continues rapidly within TÜRASAŞ, said, “We pay attention to energy efficiency during production and to work in accordance with our country's energy density reduction policy. In this context, we have prepared a project to establish solar power plants on the roofs of our factories in our Sivas Regional Directorate. In this way, we will take a big step towards environmentally friendly and competitive production that produces its own electricity with solar power plants established on factory roofs.”
