GAZIRAY Project Has Come to an End

The First National Commuter Train Set, produced by TÜRASAŞ for GAZİRAY, Turkey's fourth commuter train company after Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir, is counting the days to meet with the people of Gaziantep.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu provided information about the final stage of the National Commuter Train Set Project.

Uraloğlu, indicating that the production and assembly stages of the National Commuter Train Set Project are ongoing, said, "We aim to put the technical tests of the first set of the National Commuter Train Set Project, whose work is being carried out by Türkiye Raylı Sistem Araç Sanayi AŞ (TÜRASAŞ), into service in a short time. The train sets, whose production is ongoing, will reach a maximum speed of 90 kilometers per hour and will have a 70 percent local content rate."

The National Commuter Set GAZİRAY, which is completely manufactured by our own engineers and workers in TÜRASAŞ factories from design to manufacturing and assembly processes, is equipped with critical equipment developed domestically and nationally, primarily TCMS (Train Control and Management System) and Traction System. Prioritizing safety, ergonomics and comfort in urban passenger transportation, the sets will have a design speed of 120 km/h and an operating speed of 90 km/h. A total of 1000 passengers can be carried in a set consisting of four vehicles, two of which have driver's cabins. In addition, there is a section reserved for 2 wheelchairs in the vehicle. The vehicles, which reflect the cultural texture of the city with their design and equipment, were specially produced for Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality.

With the National Commuter Train Set Project, imports will be prevented and the domestic commuter vehicle need will be met with domestic resources and will contribute to the country's economy.
